Wuxi International Conference Center is located in Wuxi Economic Development Zone, with a total construction area of about 118,200 square meters. It is mainly composed of multi-functional halls, conference halls, lecture halls, conference rooms, office spaces and affiliated wetland parks. It integrates "conferences, exhibitions, festivals, competitions, performances, and banquets" in one. Looking down from the air, it is like a lively mountain range.
During the construction of the project, cutting-edge technology and innovative processes were used, honeycomb aluminum panels and glass combined curtain wall systems were applied, and a special hoist for diamond steel was developed to solve the problem of efficient hoisting of existing diamond steel columns.
The roof adopts a 5,935-square-meter solar photovoltaic curtain wall power generation system, with 2,362 solar curtain walls in the shape of fish scales. The total photovoltaic power generation capacity is about 485.7KW, and the annual average power generation is 370,900 degrees. The ground radiation cooling and heating system improves thermal comfort while reducing operating energy consumption. The project greening adopts rainwater reuse and water-saving irrigation systems to meet the water consumption for indoor and outdoor greening irrigation, road washing and landscape water replenishment for 72 hours.
In the rooftop design, the architects drew inspiration from Taihu stones, considering the need for natural lighting. They utilized the "Crystal Clear" product (translucent solar glass) for the roof skylights. The transparent and smooth spaces, coupled with the continuous flow of green electricity, highlight the building's aesthetic appeal. The unique appearance of "Crystal Clear" enhances the architectural beauty and contributes to energy conservation and emissions reduction, effectively lowering energy consumption. This design ensures that all interior spaces receive ample daylight while achieving the goal of green energy efficiency, resulting in a 20% energy saving compared to similar exhibition centers.
According to statistics, the total installed area of the Wuxi International Conference Center is 4,861 square meters, with a total installed capacity of 481 kW. Based on daily solar radiation and power generation efficiency, it is estimated that the conference center can generate 1,321 kWh of electricity per day, sufficient to power a 55 kW electrical system (including air conditioning, restrooms, refrigerators, and lighting) for 24 hours. It is estimated that the building can generate 482,000 kWh of green electricity annually, reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the burning of 192.8 tons of coal. This is equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 501.2 tons, dust emissions by 3.3 tons, and sulfur dioxide emissions by 4.2 tons.
