BIPV Minimalist Light - Xi'an International Conference Center

Publish Time: 2024-08-23     Origin: Site

Extending cultural heritage and embracing the future, a landmark is a symbol of a city's refined simplicity. Designed by YANG, the Xi'an Silk Road International Conference Center is a new landmark in Xi'an and the permanent venue for China's Belt and Road Summit. It not only represents the local spirit and culture but also serves as a major engine for the city's development.

Adhering to the architectural design concept of "coexistence of an ancient city and modern design" and incorporating new technologies like green energy—cadmium telluride thin-film solar photovoltaic glass—the interior design also meets the functional requirements of exhibitions and conferences. YANG has created a simple, bright, and artistic space through minimalist modern design, suitable for hosting a variety of events.

According to the utilization rate, the main functional space is divided into a banquet hall on the first floor, a multifunctional hall on the second floor, and a conference hall on the third floor. A U-shaped corridor is planned around each space to make room for casual meetings and exhibitions.

Since the layout emphasizes the "openness" of the public area, the 4,300 square meters of main functional space with higher privacy requirements is located in the middle of each floor. This layout utilizes semi-transparent solar glass curtain walls to reduce building obstruction, introduce daylight, and create a warmer, more refined atmosphere that is closer to visitors.

Inspired by the armor of the Terracotta Warriors, the public ceiling and U-shaped corridor made of aluminum plates use various shapes to enrich the space, while hiding the smoke exhaust and return air vents.

In order to avoid the chaos caused by complex wiring on the ceiling and create a solemn meeting atmosphere, Mr. Yang designed the truss of the conference hall by referring to the eaves and mortise and tenon structure of ancient buildings. This design is conducive to the concealment of pipes and the installation of lighting and audio-visual equipment.

In the multi-functional hall, the majestic wood-grain aluminum panels are arranged, integrating the ancient Chinese architectural style with the modern international structure, implying the development concept of "uniting" the world and creating a "harmonious" future.

At the entrance of the banquet hall, the antique copper door greets you, giving you a sense of stability and elegance. The pleated gray fabric wall cloth echoes the outline of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, enhancing the solemnity and sound absorption effect of the space.

Integrating solar energy into architectural design, BIPV (Photovoltaic Building Integration) is not only aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally friendly. By embedding photovoltaic components directly into building surfaces, we provide you with sustainable energy solutions that help achieve zero carbon emissions.
